We have a mid-week maid for the condo :). I'll be chillin' like a villain... We just got back from a snorkeling boat trip out to Molokini Crater and Turtle Town... 6 long hours of fun in the sun. Now going to squeeze in some pool time before tonights' birthday bash :).

Banana Bungalow Hostel in Maui

So if you're traveling by yourself, I always think hostels are the way to go. And this hostel is perfect for the atmosphere expected when you book a room. There is a good mix of 50 or so foreigners and people from the states here. It sleeps around 75 in total. So, it's not full... but if it was, I have a feeling it would just be a BIGGER party. Everyone here is very social and outgoing. Most people stay a full month and some extend their stay longer by working at the hostel. So it has the vibe that the inmates are running the show and naturally so it's like-minded folks with FUN in mind. They give free tours everyday and go to places all over the island. A great perk that most hostels don't offer. I'd recommend this place if you're heading to Maui by yourself or with a friend :) Best yet far on my hostel stays!!

This has to be the coolest hostel I've ever stayed at... The word LOVE comes to mind :).

How will I ever leave when my pals get here... Ha ha ha. Just kidding guys and gals :)

Time to reflect on Oahu

I'm waiting on a very special funny little something for the bride and groom as a house warming gift. I hope it makes them giggle as they remember their beautiful wedding and the family and friends that helped them celebrate such a momentous occasion. I know the guests will get a giggle out of it when they visit and see it hung in their beautiful new home.

The strong winds brought waves limiting the outer reef visibility. Good thing there was an inner reef for some snorkeling goodness :). This is my last day in Oahu and the hour bus ride to get here was well worth it :).

Back to the BEACH :)

The big wedding is tonight!!! So I have to day to PLAY. Going to paint, swim and relax beach side! I walked up to the north edge of Wakiki Beach to get away from the crowds. Had a hooker sighting... So unfortunate sole.

I plan to walk up to Diamond Head in a bit.

Tomorrow is a surfing DAY... Need to book it. Thinking of learning how to stand-up paddle surf :).

FINALLY at the Gate

I AM getting to Hawaii today!!!!!!

I arrived to check in for my flight 2.5 hrs before it's scheduled departure. Got to the touch screen counter and "OH NO!" My friend cashed in his frequent flyer miles and paid the difference for my flight on his credit card. Great friend. Bad airline. Due to fraud protection I needed his credit card to check in and I didn't have it. Crippled at the counter with this news my friend had to call United Airline to deal with this issue. 45 min. later he called informing me that he PHYSICALLY had to go the airport in California to clear up the problem. "What CRAP.". So as a good friend he drove up there... As he was in line waiting a representative called me and said it was cleared up and I could check in. SO after an hour of me waiting, my friend on the phone and in line at his airport, I'm finally on board!!!!! I'm so glad I was super early to check in and he answered his phone and was able to deal with this mess.

What HELL.

And the cream.... The flight they rebooked me on isn't FULL!!!!! Who is running this shit-show?

NOPE - NOT in the sky yet!!!

What happened to the excitement of hopping on a plane and jet setting off to a new destination? I remember the happy days of flying... lately it's been nothing but... and today is no different.

No, I'm not up in the sky on my scheduled flight. I received a confirmation email yesterday saying everything was a go for my flight today. Since I live down in Gardiner, MT and the airport in an 1.5 hr drive. I choose to stay the night near the airport to make my travel day easier and less stressful. I woke this morning to a phone call notifying me that my flight was reschedule. RESCHEDULE?!? United Airlines rebooked me on a new flight that leaves tomorrow. Claiming that my connecting flight #0935 from LAX to HNL was cancelled due to mechanical problems!! HIRE MECHANICS and maintain your planes!!

So... I woke to an elevated heart rate. Not a happy flyer.

I am headed to Hawaii for a destination wedding and rescheduling is NOT OK!!! Where do they get off?!? I called a representative and got the runaround... after NO flights were available today... I kept on, not excepting that as an answer. "I need to get on a flight TODAY, I have a wedding I need to be at. Not only do I live far from the airport and stayed the night in a hotel last night and will loose money on staying an additional night but I'll also loose on the hotel I booked in Honolulu. And they might not keep my reservation if I'm not there to check in." The agent checked for flights again... it was a MIRACLE!!! They DO have a flight out later today!!! WOW. Where was that flight in the beginning of our conversation?!?!?!?!? It took me 15 min. to get the RIGHT answer. JEEZ.

DON'T GIVE UP IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU!!!

I am now booked on flight #6723 from BZN to SFO at 2:24pm, connecting to Flight #77 from SFO to HNL, arriving at 6:54pm tonight.

I don't have a seat assignment yet, so I'm getting there early to get one!!

I WILL BE IN HAWAII TONIGHT!!

My air traffic control friends; watch for me in the sky :) I'll be in your air space now!!

Baby Bear in Tree

Big action in Gardiner today. A little bear cub fell in the Yellowstone river and got separated from her mom. The little one managed to get out and climbed up the tree at the corner gas station. It was hiding its face waiting for its mom to come. Meanwhile everyone in Gardiner and tourist alike came out to see. Causing traffic for the first time this season. The fish and wildlife department was called to help reunite the baby with it's mom. Before they got there the cub ran off to get away from all the spectators. BIG DAY.

Trucker Hat

I showed up at the deli today to help them out... Showered fast to be there by 10... So, it was a hat day. After I was there for a little bit I smelled something... Something like cat piss. Everying I was waring was fresh from the laundry pile... Except my jacket. I took it off for a smell test but nope. The smell still lingered!!! I finally smelled my hat... OH BOY. It was the hat on my clean head!!! So, off it went and on went this real nice trucker hat!!!! If I didn't all ready have hat hair I would have gone without. But strangely enough, no one seemed to mind.
