Local RV Game is FUN.

So, I heard this from a local and I have to say it's pretty fun to pass the time around here. PLUS. There are a ton of RV's that come through Gardiner on their way to Yellowstone.

So, what is the GAME you ask...

Garlic Dude Dust!!!! IS A MUST!!!

This stuff is amazing!! I picked up some before I left San Francisco. We took a drive down to Gilroy, the garlic capital of the world, to get some garlic braids and found this stuff on the shelf. I thought I'd give it a try and I'm so glad I did!!

OK - SO my favorite yet far:

Put some butter in a dish... sprinkle some Dude Dust on it then pop it into the microwave to warm it up.

Grill some corn on the barbi.

Top your corn with this seasoned butter and you'll know what I'm talking about!! AMAZING!!

BACK TO WORK...

As much as vacations are needed and wanted... reality comes-a-knocking eventually. And that reality is WORK. I'm an unemployed architect who's benefits are running out any day now... tear.

The job market has been really narrow with many Architects trying to squeeze though a pinhole... I was in the running for a Design Director position down in San Jose. It would have been AWESOME if i got it but they did the next round of interviews with 2 candidates with several more years experience then me... I guess there's LOTS of talent out there these days :)

Most of my unemployed Architect friends have been moving out of the profession and exploring other options. This profession is definitely feast or famine... and it's been a LONG famine. So, M-A-Y-B-E it's time for me to move on as well.

Found this little guy barely alive in the front work room last night and I didn't want to deal with him... So, he got covered up with a bucket until morning. I got a friend to help me with the removal in case he was still alive. It was team work... I lifted the bucket as he swept it out the door. It ended up that this little guy didn't survive the night. So he swept him up and tossed him outside and I got the privilege to toss him out down by the river... GOODBYE.

From Paradise to Montana

At the airport between flights...

I have a long day of flying ahead of me... Just took my inter island flight from Maui to Honolulu, Oahu and I'm waiting for my flight to the mainland. The airport here has a great outside garden area to hangout... Thought I'd read before my next flight which isn't until later tonight.

Peace Out - Hawaii

Hawaii has been good to me... but it's time to say PEACE OUT.

This is my last night here; I'm headed back to M-o-n-t-a-n-a tomorrow.

I know I'm going to experiance vaction withdrawl.

TEAR.

I've been here so long I'm starting to feel like this vacation is more then just that.

I have seen, lost, broken and gained a lot in my time here.

What I've seen:

Wedding (2 great friends got together - cheers)

Oahu (Honolulu and surrounding area)

Maui (pretty much the whole island)

Good Friends from all over (8 states represented within a group of 15)

Random old friend that happened to be in Honolulu

What I've lost or left:

Black tank-top (left of park bench after applying sunscreen and forgot about it)

Yellow pair of shoes (left outside gas station - they hurt my feet and thought someone would want them)

Sparkle ring (ment for a b-day gift - OOPS)

1 Gold hoop earing (lost on beach - don't ask)

Shampoo (left in shower)

Flower bobby-pins

What I've broken:

Nikon D100 camera body

Pair of black sandals

Art container bin

What I've gained:

Many new friends (from the wedding and birthday bash)

An amazing yellow flower ring

Clothing/Accessories (swim-suit, shirts, jacket, pullover, earings and necklace)

A well needed handbag

Pair of black heels for the wedding

Hola girl for the dash board (can't wait to add this to the VW Bug)

YouTube - Can't Buy Me Love - "All Night" (Dance Scene)

We are headed to Little Beach in Makena for some local action. A drum circle plays on the beach which starts around 4pm then is followed by fire dancers after the sun sets. This goes on every Sunday even though-it-is-the 4th of July... Maybe it will be extra special since it's a holiday. Can't wait to bust out the booze and DANCE :)

Haleakala National Park

YES, I was up at 3am and in the car for a 2hr drive; climbing from sea level to an elevation of 9,740 feet to see the sunrise at 5:42am. I can't remember the last time I saw the sunrise because I'm definitely not a morning person!!! BUT it was well worth it!!!!!! Headed out for a hike into the crater... Burr, it's cold up here... might not make it much longer!!!
